Bitcoin turned 14 years old; The anniversary of the start of the Bitcoin network

14 years ago on this day, the Bitcoin network started its activity. The first block of the Bitcoin network was mined by Satoshi Nakamoto, the anonymous creator of this digital currency, and the first transaction in the history of this blockchain was received by Hal Finney, one of the influential figures in the development process of Bitcoin.

Today, January 3, 2023 (Dan 13, 1401), is the 14th anniversary of the mining of the genesis block or block number zero of the Bitcoin network. On this day in 2009, Satoshi Nakamoto, the legendary creator of Bitcoin, mined the first block of the Bitcoin network with a reward of 50 units.

A few weeks later, Nakamoto sent 10 Bitcoins to Hal Finney, a computer scientist and early adopter of Bitcoin, marking the first transaction based on this digital currency between two people.

Nakamoto was last active on the popular Bitcointalk forum 12 years ago, after which he left the cryptocurrency community forever, and his identity remains an unsolved mystery to this day.

Although Nakamoto has had no role in Bitcoin’s development process for years, the network has undergone successful updates during this time with the support of its other active developers, and despite price fluctuations, its technology continues to grow.
