Blocking of Kandovan road and Tehran-North freeway

According to the Fars news agency, quoting the information base of the news network, the Tehran-North freeway is closed due to floods and landslides until further notice.

The head of the Road Management Center of Mazandaran province said: the road workers are cleaning and reopening the road.

A spokesman for the country’s emergency services said: “Two people were injured due to floods in the Chalous-Marzanabad area.”

In western Mazandaran, heavy rains caused floods and inundation. The flood damaged 100 residential units in Nowshahr. In Abbasabad, 325 mm of rainfall was recorded, which is equal to one year of rainfall in Mazandaran.

The precipitation system is still active in the north and northwest of the country. It is snowing and raining in Gilan, Mazandaran, Ardabil, Zanjan and West Azerbaijan provinces.

The meteorologist warned of flooding of roads, flooding of rivers and slippery roads.
