Bradley Cooper is directing his second film this spring

Theater News Base: Bradley Cooper revealed that he will start shooting his new film “Master” in May.

In an interview with Mahershala Ali, Cooper said filming would finally begin and that he would be behind the camera for the second time after making “A Star Is Born.”

Cooper will also star in the Netflix-produced film, starring Broadway composer Bernstein. Kerry Mulligan is also set to play his wife.

“Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to be the conductor,” Cooper said. I was obsessed with this subject and when I was 8 years old I wished that Santa Claus would bring me the conductor of the orchestra. Listening to music and loving it gave me the ability to understand every single moment of a work like Tchaikovsky’s Opus 35 in R major, which is a violin concerto.

In fact, Steven Spielberg was first cast as the director of the biographical film “The Master,” and it was he who chose Cooper to play Bernstein. Cooper had just finished “Born a Star” at the time, and was much more inclined to write and direct than to act, even if it was in a Spielberg film.

“I told Spielberg that I always felt I could play an orchestra conductor, but can I have time to see and write a film about it?” Cooper said. Steven is also interested in many things and usually chooses a subject and the rest of his work is suspended. I think he knew he would not be able to make this film for a while, and he finally kindly handed it over to me.

Bradley Cooper has revealed that he has been thinking about the details of the film for the past four and a half years and has now reached a point where they can start filming, which is set to begin in May.

Earlier, Netflix director Scott Stober said that a lot of work had been done to pre-produce the film and that make-up and sound arrangements had been made.

It is said that “Master” needs at least until 2023 to be ready for release.
