Britain imposed new sanctions against Iran


According to the report of Fars News Agency International Group, the British government has added seven new names to its list of sanctions in relation to Iran, continuing its anti-Iranian positions and supporting the recent disturbances.

According to Reuters, Britain on Monday (March 20) sanctioned senior officials of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, including those it claimed were “responsible for managing its financial investments”.

According to this report, “sanctions were imposed against five members of the board of directors of IRGC Cooperation Foundation and two of IRGC’s senior commanders in Tehran and Alborz.”

The British government’s statement said that these sanctions include the freezing of assets and the ban on travel to the UK for the individuals concerned.

According to this statement, the following people were included in the list of new anti-Iranian sanctions in London:

Ali Asghar Nowrozi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the IRGC Cooperation Foundation
Seyed Aminullah Emami Tabatabai, Vice Chairman of the IRGC Cooperation Foundation Board of Directors
Yahya Aladdini, member of the board of directors of the IRGC Cooperation Foundation
Jamal Babamoradi, member of the board of directors of the IRGC Cooperation Foundation
Ahmad Karimi, member of the board of directors of the Revolutionary Guards Cooperation Foundation
Ahmad Zulqader, the commander of Hazrat Seyyed al-Shohda’s (pbuh) army in Tehran province
Alireza Heydarnia, commander of Alborz province army

The British government had imposed new sanctions against Iran on Monday, March 1, under the pretext of human rights violations. The previous list included eight cases, including commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and a number of judges. After these sanctions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran sanctioned 13 entities and 15 people in the European Union and eight British officials.

The British government also targeted an Iranian company in its anti-Russian sanctions on Friday, the 5th of March, under the pretext of supplying drones to Russia.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran explained in a statement about the sanctions against the European Union and the United Kingdom: According to the approvals of the relevant authorities and within the framework of the related rules and sanctions mechanisms, as a countermeasure, individuals and institutions in the Union Europe and the British regime for supporting terrorism and terrorist groups, inciting and encouraging terrorist acts and violence against the Iranian people, interfering in the internal affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, promoting violence and unrest in Iran, publishing lies and promoting false information about Iran and Also, participation in intensifying the oppressive sanctions against the Iranian people, which is considered economic terrorism, has been sanctioned.
