British Prime Minister and Saudi Crown Prince discuss Iran – Mehr News Agency | Iran and world’s news



Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Friday to discuss a potential free trade agreement with the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Johnson also spoke with Mohammed bin Salman about increasing energy cooperation focusing on climate change.

London hopes to conclude a free trade agreement with six GCC member states this year as part of its vision to become a major trading nation.

The Prime Minister’s Office also said in a statement: “The Prime Minister reiterated Britain’s partnership with the GCC and its intention to agree on a new trade agreement with the GCC.”

The two leaders also spoke in detail about “defense and security co-operation” in the Persian Gulf. “They also referred to the current regional challenges in Iran and Yemen,” the statement said.

Sources in London said that the Prime Minister expressed hope that the talks with Iran would be successful.
