British Prime Minister’s support for “maximum pressure” against Iran

According to the Fars News Agency International Group, Rishi Sunak, one of the two candidates for the presidency of the Conservative Party in England, supports the so-called “maximum pressure” policy against Iran.
Liam Fox, British Defense Secretary between 2010 and 2011, said that Rishi Sunak is in a better position to make foreign policy policy than his rival, Liz Truss.
Liam Fox said that Rishi Sonak will be an effective prime minister because of his strong positions on Iran and his support for the policy of maximum pressure.
The policy of “maximum pressure” refers to a series of sanctions that the administration of “Donald Trump”, the former president of the United States, used against Iran after withdrawing from the JCPOA. Many experts and analysts state that this policy has failed.
Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss are competing for the position of Prime Minister of England. The winner of this competition will be announced on September 5.
Liam Fox said Sonac was “harder” on Iran than Liz Truss and was dubious about whether the nuclear deal would work.
He said: “He wants the policy of maximum pressure to be used to see if we can persuade Iran to accept a more comprehensive agreement that goes beyond the current agreement.” His feeling is that he needs to distance himself from Europe’s failed foreign policy.”
He added: “Finally, he considers Iran to be a major threat to the stability of the region, and beyond that, he believes that Iran’s ballistic missile program violates the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.”
