Canada boycotts 14 Russian figures

According to Sputnik, the Canadian government said in a statement on Friday night that the new measures would impose restrictions on 14 people, including Russian billionaires, their families and relatives of the government of Vladimir Putin (Russian President). These people have supported Putin’s senseless war in Ukraine and are responsible for the suffering of the Ukrainian people.

The new sanctions also target luxury goods trade with Russia.

“As of today, the Canadian government is banning the export of luxury goods to Russia, including tobacco, some textiles and sportswear, shoes, clothing, jewelry, kitchenware and art,” the statement said.

The Canadian government also bans imports of luxury goods from Russia, including seafood, fish and luxury non-industrial diamonds. The total trade value of these goods in 2021 is about 75. It was $ 7 million.

According to IRNA, Canada has already imposed extensive sanctions against Russia.

Following in the footsteps of Britain, the United States and other European and Asian countries, it has imposed sanctions on the president and some Russian and Belarusian officials.

Criticizing the West’s indifference to Moscow’s security concerns, Russian President Vladimir Putin recognized the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics in the Donbas region on February 21, 1400.

Three days later, on February 5, he announced the launch of a “special military operation” against Ukraine, and the tense Moscow-Kiev relations shifted to a military confrontation. The conflict in Ukraine continues and has entered its third month.
