Cancellation of tourist visa between Iran and Saudi Arabia is possible

According to the online economy report, quoted by Isna, Issa Al-Faye, a Saudi expert specializing in strategic affairs and international security, emphasized in an interview with Sputnik that since March, following the agreement between Tehran and Riyadh to resume diplomatic relations through Beijing, a new chapter of relations will begin. It started between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

He said that the implementation of the agreement between Tehran and Riyadh has started since the signing.

He, who is a retired colonel, pointed out that, in line with the return of diplomatic relations and as long as Iran behaves positively with its neighbors, it is not unlikely to cancel the tourist visa between the two countries.

Al-Faye said that this will bring economic income for both sides and increase trade exchanges, in addition to this, cultural relations between the people of the two countries will expand and facilitate the process of getting to know the heritage of tourism.

Regarding security issues, Al-Faye emphasized that there are considerations that can be dealt with by implementing the security agreements of the two countries that were signed in 2011 and taking preventive measures.

He said that with the expansion of these agreements, we can succeed in expanding bilateral relations and not going back, and guarantee the continuation of cooperation with Iran in order to strengthen security in the region.

In this regard, Abdullah Al-Asiri, a Saudi military expert, says that the return of diplomatic relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia in the last few months shows the desire of the leaders of the two countries to strengthen relations in order to serve the people of the two countries.

In an interview with Sputnik, he added: the statements of the Iranian official (Deputy Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage) are the result of cooperation and efforts in the recent stage and the desire and common political approach to strengthen and develop relations.

Al-Asiri further said: The visa cancellation discussion between the two countries is the result of the efforts made by the two countries, although at this stage the discussion is about tourist visas.

He said that it is possible to cautiously expand cooperation and ensure Iran’s goodwill in improving relations by respecting international treaties.

This Saudi expert emphasized that the cooperation between the two countries can be expanded in various other fields as well, but it is related to Iran’s sincere intention to expand its relations with Saudi Arabia and all countries in the region.

Recently, Maryam Jalali, the Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage, in a meeting with the International Deputy of the Ministry of Tourism of Saudi Arabia, proposed the formation of a working group to remove obstacles to tourism and cancel visas between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

He said about this meeting: I presented the message of Engineer Seyed Ezzatullah Zarghami – Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts – to the Minister of Tourism of Saudi Arabia to Sultan Al-Muslim. In this message, the high official of the Saudi Ministry has been invited to visit Iran, and it was decided to make the necessary planning and coordination.
