According to this decree, the main import of cars is for cars up to 2000 cc, and in special cases, in case of import of cars over 2000 cc, electric cars, hybrid cars, etc., tariffs are calculated based on the rules of the 1401 regulation book.

In the following tables, the car import tariff is determined in two car groups, less than 10,000 euros and more than 10,000 euros. Also, the details of the tariff and commercial profit of car import have been determined based on the engine volume. In the following tables, the term “FOB” is used, which means the net price of the goods in the country of origin without calculating freight costs, domestic duties of the country of origin, domestic insurance and middlemen’s profit.

In this context, Emad Jafari, an expert in the automobile industry, said in a conversation with Tejarat News: Cars produced in the country are sold at three times the price in the open market, but the car that is going to be imported and has a price of 20 thousand dollars, with the costs of transportation and Remittance, tariff, importer’s profit and accounting of 40 thousand tomans dollar will not reach less than three billion tomans.

This auto industry expert continued: If the supply of imported cars to the commodity exchange is like the supply of domestically produced cars, they will be sold at an incredible price. For example, a car like Dignity that cost 930 million Tomans was traded at the price of 2 billion Tomans. Now imagine that the imported cars that the market has been waiting for for a long time and there is a lot of demand for them will be sold at what price?

Jafari added: With the method that the Ministry of Security has adopted for the supply of cars in car imports, the cars reach the customers at a higher price. In the discussion of the sale of domestically produced cars, the profit goes to the pockets of car manufacturers. But in the supply of imported cars in the commodity exchange, the profit goes to the government’s pocket. As a result, it is expected that imported cars will reach customers at a higher price.
