Speaker of the Islamic Council He stated: We definitely have millions of scrap vehicles, we shouldn’t have approved this in the parliament, this is a problem for us, and I say with a careful and fully informed review, in cities and metropolises, apart from the issue of power plants, during 81% of the year is the main problem of air pollution caused by cars and motorcycles, as well as the lack of fuel standards.
Qalibaf pointed out: Today, sensitivity has been created in the discussion of power plants, but most of the pollution in big cities is related to this sector, and we do not follow the law in this area, including in the discussion of compliance with the fuel standard.
He stated: We write laws and bypass the legislator and the law enforcer on the margins of the law, this is our problem and the parliament and the government should pay attention to this important issue.
The Chairman of the Islamic Council added: We will hold a monitoring meeting in the form of Article 107 of the internal regulations of the Parliament with the agenda of air pollution and we will investigate and deal with this issue.
