Cartoon and cartoon is an art that people like and interact with, and because it is related to humor, they are happy to see it, enjoy it, and can easily relate to it.
Azimi spoke about the potential of using cartoons for culture in the field of tourism: I think cartoons have many applications in the field of tourism. When we talk about tourism, we mean concepts of nature and place. If we leave out nature, many places that people go to travel and have fun are places like hotels and exhibitions. For example, in our country, during the Nowruz holidays, when people travel to another city, they also refer to the exhibitions that are held in those cities and visit the works. Usually, several exhibitions are held in different cities these days, and one of these exhibitions can be an exhibition of cartoons and caricatures. Of course, hotels are no exception, in many hotels this capacity can be used a lot. Hotels have places like restaurants and corridors where people travel every day, cartoons can be used in these spaces and even in the rooms.
He said: “I have seen in many foreign hotels that they have used a cartoon instead of putting a painting of the area or a painting in the room; This use of cartoons, especially in Turkey and China, is very much and very interesting, because people are very easy to communicate with this art, so this capacity can be used in some places.
The artistic advisor of Mazandaran Lilium Festival stated: Cartoon works can also be used in exhibitions and festivals such as Mazandaran Lilium, which deals with hotel and tourism. Such exhibitions can be held anywhere and on any occasion. Things like tourism and entertainment usually happen in the presence of families, and when people go on trips with their families to an exhibition that everyone can understand or talk about easily, you can joke about a lot of things and a lot of issues and problems with cartoons. Therefore, cartoons play a very important role, especially in tourism.
In response to the question how much cartoon is used to convey concepts outside of Iran, he said: “In many places, cartoons are used to convey concepts, even in our country, in many cities or even in Tehran, for example, municipalities on billboards.” Or advertising spaces have used cartoons. If I give the example of hotels, it is not just that they want to use cartoons on signposts, but also conceptual cartoon boards that are even used as a framed board and a beautiful work such as a painting or graphic board. Cartoon has been used in the world for many years, because it is the easiest way to convey a feeling and a concept to the audience, which is considered as a subset of visual arts.
A member of the jury of Mazandaran Lilium Festival also said about the use and position of cartoons in Iran: “During the 30 years that I have been working professionally in this field, everything I have seen and remembered in Iran in the field of cartoons has been very interesting.”
He emphasized: Cartoon and cartoon festivals in Iran are one of the most prestigious festivals in the world. The greatest cartoonists and cartoonists in the world always either participate in our festivals or are the judges of these festivals. It is interesting that Iranian cartoonists and cartoonists are among the top three countries in the world, and we receive many important and special awards in the field of cartoons and caricatures every month, and the world knows us well in this field. Turkey is in the same situation as us, and all over the world, Iranian and Turkish artists are recognized as two countries that have prominent and first-rate cartoonists and cartoonists. In many cartoon and caricature festivals around the world, there is always at least one Iranian judge.
