Çavuşoğlu: I will meet with the Syrian Foreign Minister

According to Fars International Group, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said today (Thursday) in a meeting in Ankara that he will meet with the Syrian Foreign Minister in the next stage. The defense ministers of Turkey and Syria met in Moscow yesterday.
According to Anatolia news agency, he said that the Syrian government wants the refugees to return to their country, and it is necessary for Turkey to communicate with Damascus in order to achieve permanent peace and stability and ensure the safe return of the refugees.
Regarding the presence of Turkish military forces in Syria, Çavuşoğlu also said that the Turkish army is not going to stay in Syria forever and will hand over the control of the areas to the Syrians as soon as political stability is established. According to him, Turkey respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria, and because the Syrian government is unable to provide security, the Turkish army has been stationed in the northern regions of this country.
He called yesterday’s meeting between the defense ministers of Turkey and Syria in Moscow “useful” and said that coordination with the Syrian government is necessary to reach a political solution for permanent peace and stability in this country, and the differences between Turkey and Syria cannot be resolved without mutual cooperation. And it is not the season.
Referring to the opposition of the Syrian opposition to the relationship between Ankara and Damascus, Turkey’s foreign minister said: “We are the guarantor of the opposition and we will not take any action against the interests of the opposition.” We will continue our talks in order to create a suitable space for drawing a road map that all parties can reach an understanding.
Last night, the Turkish Ministry of Defense emphasized in a statement that the defense ministers of Russia, Turkey and Syria and the heads of the Syrian and Turkish intelligence services met in Moscow in a constructive atmosphere.
Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar and Turkish Intelligence Service Chief Hakan Fidan met with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Syrian Defense Minister Ali Mahmoud Abbas and heads of Russian and Syrian intelligence services in Moscow.
It is stated in this statement that the Syrian crisis and the problem of refugees and joint efforts to fight against all terrorist organizations in Syria were discussed in these meetings.
