Change the product group of Apple branded phones

After the temporary ban and one week of registering the iPhone order, now it is heard that the prioritization of these phones has been changed to product group 27. The Mobile Importers Association confirmed the news to Digito, saying such a move could lead to a ban on iPhone imports.
Mobile market participants, when registering an order for iPhones in the comprehensive trading system to receive foreign exchange, are faced with the message “Due to the placement of mobile phones with the Apple brand in product group 27, it is not possible to place an order.”
Last week, the system also registered a request for currency to import iPhone, an error that is possible Apple mobile phone order registration It was not possible until Saturday, May 20, this year. Now it seems that the restrictions for importing this phone continue.
Group 27 are goods for which export currency is used for import. Cosmetics, stationery, air conditioners, industrial filter bags, rumble cloth, road construction machinery, sports equipment, home appliances accessories, safety equipment and clothing, banana fruit and pineapple compote Some items are some of the goods They are in the form of group 27 and their import to the country is associated with many problems.
It was previously announced that the import of Samsung iPhone, S series, Note and Z phones will be subject to receiving Currency from dried fruit exports Is.
In an interview with Digito, Amir Ishaqi, secretary of the Mobile Importers Association, said the decision was economically incorrect and would cause a major shock to the market.
He also believes that this decision will raise various concerns for iPhone owners in the country:
“The price of this phone will probably increase significantly due to the bans and restrictions on imports. This has led to an increase in theft, which affects the security of the people. On the other hand, due to the lack of official service of Apple to iPhone users in Iran, in order to repair and supply parts for domestic phones, it is necessary for these phones to enter the country; “This restriction will also create problems for the users of these phones.”
Ishaqi pointed out that there are already several thousand iPhones in customs, and with this change in status, their clearance is in a state of ambiguity.

“We oppose any kind of ban,” he said, referring to the association’s efforts to engage with the Ministry of Silence to make better decisions regarding iPhone imports. We have also warned the officials of the Ministry of Silence that such a decision will have economic consequences and will shock the market. “We even suggested that they impose at least these strictures on the iPhone 14 series and beyond, so that the phones that are now on the market and in the hands of customers do not face any problems and can be serviced.”
In the end, the secretary of the Mobile Importers Association emphasized that such a decision would lead to a boom in smuggling and import of passenger phones into the country.
It seems that considering that the days of obligatory Hajj are near, profiteers will once again use the passports of pilgrims to import passenger phones, which will have economic and currency consequences. Three years ago, the then Minister of Communications, Azari Jahromi, tweeted about the misuse of pilgrims’ passports.

Alian, a spokesman for the Mobile Importers Association, told Digiato last week that the consequences of the ban include employment losses, declining government revenues and a resurgence of trafficking. Restrictions on iPhone imports “About $ 1 billion a year is spent on imports of flagship phones and iPhones, and if this decision continues, the import of iPhones will be smuggled and its currency will be supplied from the open market, which will lead to an economic catastrophe,” he said.
