According to IRNA, the official website of the World Taekwondo Federation announced the Olympic ranking in May that the position of our country’s taekwondo fighters was changing.
According to the announcement of the World Federation, considering the beginning of the new ranking period for gaining points and the presence of taekwondo athletes in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, the ranking of the World Federation will be calculated as follows from August 1, 2021 (August 10, 1400); 25% will be deducted from the points of 2020 and 2021, 50% from the points of 2019, 75% from the points of 2018, and 100% from the points of 2017 and before.
Accordingly, taekwondo fighters around the world were able to improve their rankings by participating in international free competitions.
In the ranking announced by the World Federation, in the men’s group, Armin Hadipour, the representative of our country in the 58-kg weight category, who had surgery on his injured leg after the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and was not eligible to participate in international competitions, scored 126.55 points. 2 steps down fell to tenth place; Mohammad Sadegh Dehghani fell 5 steps and was ranked 40th in the world with 58.90 points. Mehdi Haj Mosaei with 53.20 points in 46th place in the world remains unchanged. Hossein Lotfi, another Iranian taekwondo fighter in this weight, is in the 62nd place with 18 steps down from the previous ranking with 40.50 points. Mohammad Hassan Palangfkan was in the 69th place with 34.25 points and 2 steps down and Ali Tavakoli is in the 73rd place with 33.76 points without any changes.
In this weight, Amir Abbas Rahnama is also ranked 76th in the world with 32.00 points and one ascent, and behind him is Reza Jamshidi with 31.18 and two ascents in the seventy-seventh place.
In the 68-kg weight class, Soroush Ahmadi was ranked eighth with 141.60 points and one step lower than the previous month. Amir Mohammad Bakhshi also went to the 30th place with 72.36 points. Mohammad Mehdi Emadi also stood in 46th place with 54.50. Pasha Atardi with 30.16 points in the eighty-seventh place, Amirsina Bakhtiari with 27.92 points in 97th place and Erfan Bozorgi with 25.92 points reached 106th place.
Mir Hashem Hosseini in the weight of -80 kg has 56.50 points without change in the forty-first place. Daniel the Great climbed 2 steps and reached the 43rd place with 53.52 points. Ali Eshkorian also dropped to 60th place with 40.84 points. Mehran with 33.49 points and 2 steps climbed to the 67th place. Mohammad Hossein Yazdani was ranked 74th with 31.12 points unchanged; Mohammad Ali Khosravi also went to 88th place with 26.08 points.
Sajjad Mardani Taekwondo weight 80 + kg with 141.95 points and unchanged is in ninth place. Ali Ahmadi reached the 40th place with a score of 40/50. Saeed Rajabi with 34.46 points in the fifty-sixth place, Ali Najafi with 33.60 points in the fifty-eighth place, Arash Dabbagh Tafreshi with a score of 29.90 and a step up to the sixty-fourth place; Alireza Nadalian came in seventy-second with 26.00 points and one step up.
But in the women’s group, Ghazal Soltani in the weight category of -49 kg stood in the 35th place with 71.25 points and 2 steps down. Negar Ismaili with 67/20 points and one step down to 38th place, Saeedeh Nasiri with 56.05 points and one step up to 51st place, Mobina Nematzadeh with 43.02 points in 70th place, Masoumeh Ranjbar with 41/20 points were in the 71st place, Mahshid Karimian with 40/32 points were in the 73rd place, Mahla Mo’menzadeh with 39.76 points were in the 74th place.
In weight 57-kg; Nahid Kiani went to the 22nd place with 99.43 points and 3 steps down. Zahra Sheidaei reached the 40th place with 68.40 points. Nastaran Valizadeh with 55.60 points is still in the 52nd place. Parisa Javadi is in the 71st place with 34.43 points without any changes.
