According to Mehr news agency, Mao Ning, the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, in response to Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian’s statement that “the window to revive the JCPOA is open, but not forever”, said that the negotiations on the resumption of JCPOA commitments are in the final stage.
At the daily press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, in response to a reporter’s question about the Iran nuclear deal, Ning said: China has paid attention to related reports. Negotiations about resuming adherence to the JCPOA are in the final stage.
He added: Despite the complex and challenging perspective of negotiations, there is still hope to reach an agreement. All parties should remain committed to dialogue and negotiation and increase diplomatic efforts to return the JCPOA to its original path as soon as possible.
He emphasized: Iran has shown sincerity in seeking an agreement to resume JCPOA commitments. The involved parties should take the right decision in the same direction, take positive and constructive steps, refrain from linking Iran’s nuclear issue to other issues, and help reach the conclusion of the negotiations as soon as possible.
The spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry also stated: China will continue to cooperate with the parties in an effort to reach a political and diplomatic agreement on Iran’s nuclear issue, nuclear non-proliferation safeguards and maintaining peace and stability in the Middle East.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of our country wrote in a tweet on January 2nd: We agreed with Mr. (Joseph) Borrell about taking the final steps of the agreement. The window of agreement from Iran is open, but not forever.
The statement of the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry about “not linking Iran’s nuclear issue to other issues” was raised while John Kirby, the strategic relations coordinator of the US National Security Council, violated international laws regarding the necessity of non-interference in the internal affairs of independent countries with support. Regarding the disturbances in Iran, he had announced that negotiations to lift sanctions were not on Washington’s agenda, and the Iran nuclear agreement was not the current focus of the United States, and he claimed that he did not expect any progress in this field in the future.
