China’s reassertion of power with the entry of 25 fighters into Taiwan’s airspace

According to the report of Fars International News Agency, in a situation where tensions continue over the visit of the Speaker of the US House of Representatives to Taiwan, the island’s authorities announced on Thursday (today) the violation of the island’s airspace by Chinese fighters.

Media sources from Taiwan reported that the island’s Ministry of Defense issued a statement about the violation of Taiwan’s airspace by Chinese fighters.

Taiwan’s Ministry of Defense announced that 25 Chinese Air Force fighter jets crossed the middle line of the Taiwan Strait and entered Taiwan’s airspace, AFP and other media reported.

The ministry also claimed that 51 Chinese fighters and 6 ships were seen around Taiwan today.

The announcement of Taiwan’s Ministry of Defense regarding the violation of airspace has been issued in a situation where tensions in the region have escalated in recent weeks after the provocative visit of Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the US House of Representatives, to Taiwan.

Following Nancy Pelosi’s visit and Taiwan’s senior officials welcoming her to the island, senior Chinese officials, who have repeatedly warned the US and Taiwanese separatists about ignoring the “one China” principle, have taken measures such as holding military exercises.

In this regard, the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry strongly rejected the statements of a senior White House official who accused Beijing of undermining the peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait.

Repeating China’s position that Taiwan belongs to this country, Wang Wenbin called the Americans’ actions a violation of the principle of “One China” and described Washington as a “gangster and bully” (more details).
