Chinese corporations blacklisted by US government

US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raymondo told Reuters on Wednesday that Joe Biden’s government was conducting an extensive investigation into Chinese companies and their possible attempts to circumvent US sanctions on exports, IRNA reported on Wednesday. He added that the government is actively pursuing research and adding these companies to the economic blacklist.
The Trade Organization list restricts access to US exports.
“The government is working to obtain information about Chinese companies and blacklist them, and we are halfway through our investigation,” Gina Raymondo told reporters. “Our sanctions do not seem to be lifted any time soon because China is always finding ways to circumvent them.”
The Secretary of Commerce also announced that the United States would soon align with its allies on trade restrictions, taking into account US export controls.
In 2019, the Donald Trump administration used the blacklist extensively, adding dozens of Chinese companies to the list, including Huawei, and in 2020, Chinese chip maker SMIC and China UAV Put “DJI” on this list.
In line with the previous government’s policies, Joe Biden added dozens of Chinese companies to the list in November last year due to national security and foreign policy concerns. In December last year, the US Department of Commerce added the Chinese Army Academy of Medical Sciences and 11 other Chinese research institutes to the list.
The Department of Commerce added 32 Chinese entities to its “unconfirmed list” in February this year, so US exporters would have to go through more steps before moving goods to those entities.
The Chinese embassy in Washington said last year that the United States was abusing all of its facilities and lists to limit Chinese companies as much as possible.
