“Chris Murphy” emphasizes the ineffectiveness of intensifying economic pressure on Iran – Mehr News Agency | Iran and world’s news

According to the Mehr news agency, Senator Chris Moffy, a Democratic member of the US Senate, said today during the Foreign Relations Committee hearing: “Washington has tried to apply and intensify economic pressure on Tehran.” We have seen that Iran’s behavior has worsened.

“It is difficult to target science in Iran,” the US senator told Robert Mali, the US special envoy for Iran. The military option against Iran has significant limitations and will increase the risk of starting a major war in the region.

The US Special Representative for Iran responded: “As I said, a military strike is not the answer to Iran’s nuclear program.”

Acknowledging the failure of former President Donald Trump’s policy of maximum pressure, Robert Mali said at the meeting that the best way to deal with Iran’s nuclear program was to return to the Borjam agreement.

The US envoy to Iran said: “The unpleasant result that we are witnessing now (regarding Tehran’s peaceful nuclear activities) is the result of Trump’s unilateral withdrawal from the UN Security Council. If such a decision had not been made, we could, with the help of our allies and partners, focus all our efforts on controlling Iran and countering its actions. The offer of a limited reduction of sanctions to Tehran could now save the nuclear deal and pave the way for a broader deal. The only solution for Iran is to use diplomacy. Of course, if Tehran wants to get more concessions from Borjam, no agreement will be reached. A return to the IAEA will slow down Iran’s nuclear program.
