Comparing the resistance of Galaxy S23 Ultra and iPhone 14 Pro Max

As you can see in the video above, the first step of the drop test involves dropping the devices from the back side. These devices fall on concrete and the Samsung phone is only slightly damaged. In fact, the bottom corner of the device cracks, while the back panel of the iPhone 14 Pro Max breaks. In this phase of the test, the Galaxy S23 Ultra wins.

In the second stage of the test, the phones are dropped over the edge onto concrete. Since the Galaxy S23 Ultra has sharp edges, the Victus 2’s Gorilla Glass takes more damage. In contrast, the iPhone 14 Pro Max remains healthier due to its rounded edges.

In the next step, both phones fall on concrete from the display side, which damages the display of both devices. The iPhone 14 Pro cracks at the top of the screen, while the Galaxy S23 Ultra cracks at the corners of the screen. However, both phones maintain their performance.

Finally, these two smartphones fall from the side of the display on the steel plate. At this stage, both phones keep their performance, but the back panel of the iPhone 14 Pro Max breaks completely. In the end, the Galaxy S23 Ultra wins this fall test by a small margin.
