Construction of 150,000 rental units for the first to third deciles of the society
According to Tejarat News, Mahmoud Mahmoudzadeh, Deputy Minister of Housing and Construction of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, said regarding the construction of 150,000 rental units: It has a profit of 5% and its 100,000 units are intended for the middle deciles of the society.
He said: Simultaneously with the implementation of the Housing Production Leap Law, the construction of 150,000 rental units will be implemented in order to create balance in the market. If the demand for a rental unit increases, we are not prohibited from increasing this number.
Yousefi, a member of the Civil Commission of the Majles, said: “According to the plan of the comprehensive housing document in different governments, one million housing units should have been built annually, but this was not done.”
He said that the housing market in the previous government was closed, adding that the reason for the high cost of housing in various fields was the abandonment of housing projects in the previous government.
Yousefi, stating that in the past few years we have had a 980 percent increase in housing prices, said: “We have about 6 million and eight hundred thousand tenants in the country and the construction of one million housing units, which is the commitment of the government.” If we want to build 150,000 rental housing units, there is still a shortage of housing.
A member of the Civil Commission of the Majles said: three points should be considered in the construction of rented housing. What is the term and amount of rent and the government is a party to the landlord or tenant in this contract.
Yousefi said: to control housing prices and rents, we must reduce the gap between housing shortages. The housing market should be for the needs of the people, not speculation.
He said: “The impact of housing programs requires long-term spending, and we hope that the implementation of housing construction programs will create a balance in this market in a few years.”
