Continuation of “Crucified” by changing the actor / director who is part of the treatment staff

Theater News Base: Faezeh Mohammadian, writer and director of the play “Crucified”, which will be performed at Mehregan Theater, said about the changes that took place in the performance: “Unfortunately, the main actor’s larynx had a problem from the first days of the performance. We ran hard. Of course, we were suspicious of Corona, but the experiment showed that our guess was correct, so we had to change the actor.

He continued: The performance of the play was stopped on Friday, September 26, but from Tuesday, September 30, we went back on stage with a change of actor. Due to the problems that occurred for the actor, we prepared one of our other actors for this role, so Abolfazl Aliari has replaced Hamed Khosravi. It has also been coordinated with Mehregan Theater to add the days when we could not perform to the continuation of the performances.

Regarding the theme of the play, Mohammadian explained: “This play is about a number of asylum seekers who have been forced to leave their country of Syria and emigrate to Germany.” Among them, an Iranian-born girl with a Syrian mother is leaving Iran for Turkey because of her mother, so that she might be able to do something for her mother and brother. But the girl drowns in the sea while trying to help her mother and brother, and her fiancé continues on her way, completing what the girl intended to do. She eventually takes her fiancé to Germany, and the child is the only surviving member of the family as a sign of the future of a country. It depicts the events of the play from Turkey to the German border, and the girl candidate is the narrator of these events.

The director reminded about such a subject: I had a friend who had to emigrate for some reason, and it was after he left that I followed the news of the asylum seekers and their fate, and this is how the idea for this play was formed. Of course, the only idea for shaping the play is taken from my friend’s migration, and the essence of the story is fiction. The story of the play has a realistic narrative, but symbolic signs are also evident in the work.

“I am part of the medical staff and I work in the corona,” he said of the conditions under which the coronary crisis was performed. Therefore, I did not want to stage my play in this situation, and my intention was to take the stage when the situation is more favorable and the fifth peak has passed and vaccination has been more widespread, so that people can watch the play safely, but Unfortunately, because we had a contract with the main actor of the play and he insisted that the play must be performed by the end of September, otherwise he would no longer take responsibility for the play and would receive his full salary, so we had to perform during this period. Unfortunately, despite the insistence of our actor, he also got coronary and caused us problems.

At the end of his speech, Mohammadian said: “The reception of the play was not good in the first days of the performance, but the further we went, the better the reception was due to the conditions of these days, and I was one of the same audience in this situation They came to the theater, thank you.
