Contractors cancel main housing project?

According to Tejarat News, last year the National Housing Movement was discussed and the government promised to build one million apartments a year from 1401. But at the same time, no credible source was announced to fund the project.
In June of this year, the first national housing project began in Tehran. This construction was in Chittagong and its execution period is estimated at three to five years.
But in the past few days, there have been reports that some contractors have dropped out of the National Housing Movement project. Rising prices and contractors’ lack of access to finance are among the reasons cited.
Mansour Gheibi, a housing market expert, told Tejarat News: In the last 32 years, the total number of houses built in the country has been about 11 million 600 thousand units. That is, 360,000 housing units per year.
Promise to build national housing three times the average of the last 32 years
He continued: “The claim that one million units can be built in one year is three times the average of the last 32 years.”
The expert also said: “The most important point is that when apartments of this size and number are built, it can be used when all the infrastructure and support services are provided.” This means that costs do not simply mean construction costs per square meter.
Gheibi explained: the main location of these construction costs should be announced, now it is not clear where these obstacles are.
Regarding the construction problems of these units, he said: “Among the reasons for worrying about the non-realization of national housing construction is the lack of sustainable supply of the project, lack of access to suitable land to implement the project and concern about rising inflation and consequently high construction costs.” Also, executive executive interventions and the constructive role of the government in the implementation sector, which is one of the factors hindering the progress of the project.
