Dell G16 gaming laptop with 165 Hz display was introduced

Alienware’s new monster with a 480Hz display wasn’t the only gaming laptop introduced by Dell this week. The company has added a new member to its G-series budget gaming laptops: the Dell G16 gaming laptop. This laptop has many similarities with the Dell G15 laptop, but the screen is bigger and has a higher resolution. In fact, Dell’s G16 laptop is supposed to fill the gap between the 15.6-inch G15 laptops and the 17.3-inch Alienware monsters in Dell’s portfolio.
Dell G16 gaming laptop technical specifications
Dell’s G15 laptops all had 16:9 displays with 1080p resolution and 120 or 165Hz refresh rates, but the G16 laptops are equipped with 16:10 displays with 1600×2560 resolution and 165Hz refresh rates. From a technical point of view, in these laptops, the configuration of the processor and graphics card is the placement of Intel’s 12th generation Alder Lake processors next to Nvidia’s GeForce RTX Ampere graphics cards.
G15 laptops could be ordered with both AMD Ryzen processors and Intel processors; But currently the Core i7 12700H processor is the only processor that can be ordered for the Dell G16 laptop. Of course, for the graphics card, you can choose between RTX 3050 Ti and RTX 3060 graphics cards, and for memory, you can choose a 512 GB SSD or 1 TB NVMe for this device. All models of this laptop come with 16GB of DDR5 4800 RAM (two 8GB slots).
Dell G16 gaming laptop prices start at $1,400 and go up to $1,600. Dell’s G series gaming laptops have always been among the best budget gaming laptops, and their high display refresh rate makes them an ideal choice in the mid-range laptop market. The Dell G16 laptop may not be equipped with the most powerful hardware, but its 165 Hz QHD display is its main strength.
