Democratic Senator: The United States should not be short-sighted in lifting sanctions on Iran! Mehr News Agency Iran and world’s news

At the same time as the interruption in the progress of the Vienna talks, which is due to the delay of the Washington administration in making sensitive political decisions, it seems that a cross-party effort is underway in the US Congress to stone the way to reach an agreement.
In a letter to US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, Democratic Sen. Joe Mancin has reportedly expressed doubts about the possibility of a successful negotiation, claiming that he will spare no effort to ensure that past mistakes are not repeated.
“The United States should not be short-sighted about easing sanctions in the hope of easing energy challenges,” he said in the letter.
“Congress has the opportunity to pass a resolution to increase the United States’ ability to supply energy needed by Washington’s partners and allies,” Mancin said.
The Democratic senator’s remarks come as Washington’s reluctance to comply with Iran’s request to remove the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps from the list of what the United States considers a terrorist organization has delayed the outcome of the Vienna talks.
Earlier, Brian Mast and Scott Perry, two Republican members of the US House of Representatives, said they would block a possible attempt by the Washington administration to lift sanctions on the IRGC.
Haaretz claims that some White House officials, in support of the Zionist regime, will seek to preserve the IRGC’s name on the list; But State Department officials have a different view.
The eighth round of Vienna talks, which began last year in the city with Iran and the remaining countries in the UN Security Council, has been sabotaged by the United States. The Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly stated that it will never back down on Tehran’s national interests.
