Denial of the meeting between “Ahmad Massoud” and the Taliban Foreign Minister in Iran

The Panjshir Front has denied allegations that Ahmad Massoud met with Amir Khan Mottaki, the Taliban interim foreign minister, according to a Fars News Agency Afghanistan correspondent.

Sebghatullah Ahmadi, spokesman for the Panjshir Front, wrote in a Twitter message today: “There are no plans to hold talks between Ahmad Massoud and the Taliban leadership in Iran.”

Earlier, some media outlets reported that Ahmad Massoud and Ismail Khan, the former governor of Herat, were scheduled to meet with Amir Khan Mottaqi, the acting foreign minister of the Taliban in the Valley of Iran.

According to the Taliban Foreign Ministry, Amir Khan Mottaqi went to Tehran yesterday at the invitation of the Iranian Foreign Ministry to discuss political and economic issues.

Meanwhile, the acting foreign minister of the Taliban, Amir Khan Mottaqi, praised his visit to Tehran.

“We had positive meetings with the Iranian side in the fields of trade, oil, transit, politics and security,” he said. “Our goal is to establish good relations with the region, especially with neighboring countries.”
