Deputy Minister of Heritage, Culture, Tourism and Handicrafts meets with World Heritage Committee evaluators



According to the Public Relations and Information Center of the Ministry of Heritage, Culture, Tourism and Handicrafts, Ali Darabi welcomed the evaluators of the World Heritage Committee and thanked them for the studies and follow-ups carried out in the evaluation of 56 caravanserais introduced in the case of Iranian caravanserais.

The Deputy Minister of Heritage, Culture, Tourism and Handicrafts said: “I hope that the document and registration plate of Iranian caravanserais will be handed over to our country by the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to UNESCO next year, as well as the official documents and registration plate of Horaman / Oramanat World Railway and cultural landscape.” »

Mehdi Hussam, the Egyptian evaluator of the World Heritage Committee, also said at the meeting: “It works.”

Chan Pichan, a Turkish evaluator who started his evaluation with Mehdi Hesam yesterday and specializes in his doctorate in the field of Anatolian caravanserais, also expressed his satisfaction with his presence in Iran.

The case of the Iranian caravanserai with 56 selected inns as a chain case covers a significant part of the provinces of the country, including 24 provinces. The case, which has been under study for several years, is set to be submitted to the World Heritage Committee in 2022 for inclusion on the committee’s list.
