Details of changes in petrol consumption in the last 10 years/ daily deficit of 13 million liters of petrol this year


According to the economic correspondent of Fars news agency, the analysis of the trend of gasoline consumption in the country since 1990 shows that the consumption of this petroleum product increases by 6% annually.

Although in 1998, with the correction of gasoline prices in November and the outbreak of Corona in February, the trend of gasoline consumption decreased sharply, but from 1999 onwards, the growth of annual consumption increased significantly, with a difference from its 6% trend.

Figure 1 shows the amount of gasoline consumption in the scenario of “no outbreak of Corona” and “occurring state”, as well as the annual growth rate of gasoline consumption.

As you can see, after the corona era, gasoline consumption is returning to the trend that it would have been in if the corona did not occur (note the proximity of the red line to the black).

According to the picture, the growth rate of gasoline in the years 1400 and 1401 was 14.9 and 19 percent, respectively, which is higher than the average of 6 percent and indicates the acceleration of gasoline consumption to reach the previous state (black graph).

According to forecasts this year, the average consumption of gasoline will reach more than 118 million liters per day, while the production of gasoline will be about 105 million liters per day according to the report of the Center for Value Chain Studies, which means that this year the 13th government will have to respond Domestic demand is forced to import at least 10 million liters per day.
