Details of Iranian-Russian car production

Online economics quotes ایسنا, Mohammad Reza Najafi Manesh stated: A few years ago, during the joint meetings of Iranian and Turkish parts manufacturers, the first plan to produce a joint car with a focus on these two countries and Russia was proposed, which we also welcomed. The plan, the initial agreement on which was finalized during the recent visit of the head of the Trade Development Organization to Russia, is in fact a continuation of these talks.

He stated that a proposal to produce this car had been proposed a few years ago, adding: “We had presented this plan to both Mr. Rouhani and Mr. Reisi, and during the recent talks with the Trade Development Organization, following it up is on the agenda.” It was found that the organization’s negotiations with Russian officials led to a preliminary agreement. Of course, this is currently at the level of the initial agreement, and more final steps must be taken in the future.

A member of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce explained about the details of this proposed model: According to the initial plan, according to the capacity that exists among the parts manufacturers of the three countries, the plan will be pursued in such a way that the responsibility of supplying parts and equipment for this car is divided among the three countries. . For example, Iranian parts manufacturers supply car engines, Turkish parts manufacturers supply domestic parts, and Russians build the body. Of course, these are examples, and until the plan reaches the final step, this division can not be fully explained.

Najafi Manesh continued: “What is very important in this plan is the discussion of division of labor and sharing of interests.” Due to the assembly equipment available in the three countries, it is possible for us to agree on the parts for the final production as stipulated in the agreement, and these parts will be moved cleanly between the three countries. This means that we should not have cash sales in this framework, but the three parties will produce the car in their countries by supplying their share parts.

He also explained about the executive dimensions of this program: the production line of this car should be activated in all three countries. If, for example, there is an agreement to produce 300,000 vehicles a year and it is established that each country will produce 100,000 of them, the component makers will operate as much as the entire production line needs. For example, an Iranian component maker makes pads for 300,000 units and sends them to two other countries, in exchange for receiving the agreed parts from abroad.

A member of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce also spoke about the capacity of Iranian auto parts manufacturers in this field: We have the capacity to produce parts for two million vehicles per year in the country, which considering the current production of Iranian auto manufacturers, there is definitely this capacity in cooperation with In other countries, the production of new products should be on the agenda. In this context, Iran Khodro and Saipa can also enter into a new cooperation and partnership so that this joint product with Russia and Turkey can finally reach the final production.
