In addition to that, mineral water packages, bread with a long shelf life, canned food, and candles will also be sold in the stores. If customers need, they also deliver special children’s and health products to people.
From the third day onwards, stores are only able to supply dry goods. All major chain stores in Austria have agreed to operate under this emergency plan. Austrian citizens are advised to store enough food for 14 days in their homes and to have 100 euros in cash per family member.
This plan has been prepared in cooperation with the Austrian Chamber of Commerce, the Central Bank and the Ministry of Energy of this country and representatives of the food industry and the Association of Austrian Municipalities.
