Development of cooperation between Iran and New Zealand in the field of bio, nanotechnology and medical sciences

According to IRNA’s parliamentary reporter, Andrew Bailey and Omar Ebrahim, the heads of the Middle East and Africa Parliamentary Friendship Group in the New Zealand Parliament, met and talked with Abdul Nasser Derakhshan, the head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Islamic Republic of Iran and New Zealand in the Islamic Council, in a virtual meeting (webinar).
At the beginning of this virtual meeting, Derakhshan said: The Islamic Republic of Iran and New Zealand, considering their existing capabilities, need firm determination to improve the level of relations.
The head of the parliamentary friendship group of Iran and New Zealand in the parliament considered parliamentary friendship groups to be a good capacity in promoting interactions and added: strengthening parliamentary diplomacy and the continuation of consultations between representatives of the parliaments will help to expand the relations between Iran and New Zealand.
He considered the relations between Iran and New Zealand for more than half a century in the cultural, social and political-economic fields to be a strong support for the relations between the two countries and added: Parliamentary cooperation will be effective in strengthening interactions and facilitating relations between governments.

Referring to the economic and commercial capacities of Chabahar port, the representative of the people of Iranshahr in the parliament emphasized the interest of the Iranian side for joint investments with New Zealand.
