Diplomacy from Turkmenistan to Qatar

Following the third note of Esfand in Jamjam newspaper, written by Ebrahim Jalili, Chairman of the Mines and Mineral Industries Commission of the Iran Chamber: The President visited Qatar yesterday, and given the many areas of cooperation that exist between Iran and Qatar, there is a lot of hope that this visit will be fruitful. Given their potential, Iran and Qatar can improve their economic and trade relations. One of the areas of cooperation is the pursuit of technical and engineering projects. By investing in this sector, Iran can have an active presence in Qatar. On the other hand, it is a country that has a great need for agricultural products and our producers can work well in this field. The Qatari market has shown great interest in buying Iranian fruits, vegetables and nuts.

Only from the export and import sector, it seems that the cooperation and joint investment that will be formed between the two countries can pave the way for the improvement of relations between Iran and Qatar. Qatar has a lot of financial resources, and thanks to this financial capacity, it is possible to have joint ventures with other countries. Therefore, it is possible to create conditions for the establishment of production units to enable the establishment and operation of large manufacturing companies in Iran with the cooperation of Qatar. For this reason, Qatari investors will also get acquainted with the investment fields in our country. Various industrial and mining fields will be other areas for joint cooperation between Iran and Qatar.

Qataris have invested in various countries so far. This is while we have the closest distance to Qatar compared to other countries. When Qatar was under siege and sanctions, Iran fully supported it. Given this background, there is an opportunity to further connect with Qatar. This interaction provides Iran with the opportunity to take appropriate measures using the capacity of Qatar to meet the needs of our third country. Through Qatar, we can penetrate the markets of the Persian Gulf countries and provide our goods to this market without tariffs with the participation of Qatar.

The oil and gas field is another interactive field between Iran and Qatar, however, this part of this cooperation is also a ground for competition between the two countries. It seems that in such a situation, the type of cooperation, especially in the energy sector, should be such as to ensure the interests of both countries. In any case, the thirteenth government has made cooperation with its neighbors one of its foreign policy priorities since taking office.

This active diplomacy has expanded from Turkmenistan to Qatar. In general, participation in regional agreements is of great economic and political importance for the country. Unfortunately, we were unaware of these regional pacts and agreements at times, and fortunately we became active in the Shanghai and Eurasian pacts from the beginning of the thirteenth government. We should also try to be more active in the ECO. Naturally, these regional cooperation can increase exports and be effective in meeting the needs of the country.
