Discovery of 523 historical objects from the house of a smuggler in Gilan province

According to Moj News Agency, Sardar Hassan Mehri, Commander of the Cultural Heritage Preservation Unit, announced the discovery of 523 historical objects related to the Median, Achaemenid, Parthian, Sassanid and Islamic periods from the house of a smuggler in Rudsar and the arrest of the accused.
He added: following the report of cultural heritage lovers about buying and selling some antiques in the “Rahimabad” section of Rudsar city, after verifying the news, this issue was immediately put on the agenda of the Guilan Province Protection Unit.
He added: the officers of the protection unit formed an elite team with the coordination of the judicial authority and accompanied by law enforcement forces and went to the desired location and inspected the house of one of the smugglers, 523 items including necklaces, earrings, pendants, retons, cups, coins and. .. seized.
Mehri said: “According to the opinion of cultural heritage experts, the discovered objects have historical value and their antiquity was estimated in the Median, Achaemenid, Parthian, Sassanid and Islamic periods.”
According to the commander of the Cultural Heritage Preservation Unit, the accused was arrested in this operation and was introduced to the judicial authorities along with the case file for legal proceedings.
