Do carmakers’ weekly sales make cars cheaper?

According to Tejarat News, the weekly sale of Iran-Khodro started on Saturday, December 11th. After an 18% increase in the prices of Iran Khodro and Saipa products, the Vice President of Marketing and Sales of Iran Khodro Industrial Group said: “From this week, in addition to immediate sales plans, a one-year advance sale and participation in production will continue.”
He emphasized: with the correction of prices, the sale of 100,000 units more than the obligations has been on the agenda of Iran-Khodro until the end of the year.
Saipa weekly sales also started in a project called Saipa Tuesdays. These car supply plans will include special sales, pre-sales and production participation.
Is the car getting cheaper?
But does weekly sales make the car cheaper?
Farid Zaveh, an automotive expert, told Tejaratnews: “The root of the increase in cars in the country is upward inflation.” That is, it is due to the lack of money to run the country.
The expert added: “Therefore, the implementation of this plan will have a cross-cutting effect on the market, and in the long run, cars will not become cheaper.”
Price growth is prevented
Amir Hossein Kakaei, a car expert, also told Tejarat News on the subject of reducing car prices with a weekly sales plan: “Car prices increased by 18%.” If no action is taken, car prices in the market will rise by at least 18%.
“Automakers have promised to increase production,” he added. In this plan, it should be seen how much sales volume will be and to what extent it can be implemented.
The car expert said: “The important point is that after a month, car production has increased compared to the past and has reached the people.” If car production increases significantly in the next month, the effect will be to control prices.
He added: “The decision of car manufacturers and Minister of Silence was to increase car production by 35%.” But despite numerous pre-sales, there was no increase in production.
“We hope that with the increase in prices, the amount of liquidity in the hands of carmakers will increase and they will increase production,” Kakai said. If car production increases in line with sales, prices will be prevented from rising next week. Because the price of the car, in addition to the supply, also depends on the price of the dollar. We hope that the negotiations will reach a favorable result that will prevent the growth of the dollar exchange rate, at the same time reduce the growth of car prices and the car market will reach a good situation.
