Do not burst the price bubble of foreign cars / Will the prices decrease?

According to Tejarat News, in the past year, foreign cars have seen a large increase in prices due to fluctuations and the increase in the price of the dollar. Some foreign cars recorded a price increase of about 90%.

For example, the S5 automatic check car, which was priced at about 90 million Tomans in 1996, has reached over 900 million Tomans in January 2014. Also, the price of Renault Talisman car has increased from 215 million Tomans to 1 billion and 900 million Tomans.

The price of the dollar in 1997 was about 10 thousand tomans and in 1400 it reached 32 thousand tomans. The dollar has grown by about 65% in these three years.

Recession in the foreign car market

Mehdi Dadfar, secretary of the Automobile Importers Association, told Tejarat News about the possibility of lower prices for foreign cars: “The market is in recession and price reductions are very unlikely.”

Dadfar called the decrease in the price of the dollar in the price of foreign cars ineffective and continued: “Only the liberalization of car imports can have a great reduction effect in the foreign car market.” If car imports are liberalized, prices in the foreign car market will fall.

The secretary of the Automobile Importers Association explained in the end that the transactions in the foreign car market have decreased and reached almost zero. This situation in the market has made prices uncertain.

This issue in the foreign car market has caused a bubble in car prices. Considering that the ratio of the decrease in the price of the dollar in the past month has been lower than the increase in the exchange rate in the last three years, the decrease in the price of three or four thousand tomans has no effect on the price of the dollar in the foreign car market.

According to Mehdi Dadfar, only the issue of liberalizing car imports and eliminating import tariffs can reduce the price of foreign cars.

Stability in the price of foreign cars

There has not been much fluctuation in the foreign car market in the last few days. Many foreign cars have not increased or decreased significantly in the last few days. A small number of cars recorded price fluctuations of less than 10 million tomans, which was not a significant percentage considering the price of the car.

Also, a number of foreign cars increased in price at the beginning of January 1400 due to the increase in the price of the dollar, but with the decrease in the price of the dollar, they did not register much and remained at the same prices.
