According to the financial news report, citing the public relations of the National Bank of Iran, there have been phone calls from the fraudsters to the bank’s customers that they won the Atbat Aliyat trip, the first companion, and… after the phone call, the fraudsters first conducted a fake interview. They arranged with one of the officials of the Broadcasting, Ministry of Communications, etc. and then they said that they need information such as national code, date of birth, etc. to deposit the prize.
After receiving information from customers or validation codes and one-time passwords sent to customers’ mobile phones and registering them in the bank’s systems and applications such as Bam, Yeh, Harem Bank, etc., these people transfer money from the accounts. .
Meanwhile, fraudsters use other methods such as social engineering, hacking fake messengers, or information disclosed on the dark web to personal information such as national code, employment code, home address, job, spouse’s name, etc. gain access and use this information to gain more trust.
Respected customers should be aware that invalid phone calls or suspicious messages sent in cyberspace with titles such as gift payment, prize winning, calls from radio and television programs and announcements of winning people, etc. can be a trap for fraudsters for repeated withdrawals from be their bank account.
National Bank of Iran requests its valued customers to refrain from disclosing their banking information in order to prevent any forgery and fraud and bear losses.
