Dozens of prominent filmmakers call for an end to the Gaza war: “a massacre on a very large scale”


According to Fars Cinema Reporter, “…what is happening now in Gaza is a massacre of very large dimensions that has caused the death of thousands of women and children and destroys the minimal possibility of a nation’s survival.” About 50 filmmakers emphasized in a letter published by Liberation.

The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, launched the military operation “Al-Aqsa Storm” against the Israeli regime on the 7th of October (15th of October) in response to more than seven decades of occupation of Palestine and nearly two decades of siege of Gaza and imprisonment and torture of thousands of Palestinians. Hamas fighters penetrated into the occupied territories through the border fences at several points, and in addition to killing hundreds of Israelis, they also captured a number of them.

In response to this operation, the Zionist regime started a heavy bombardment against the Gaza Strip and placed this area under a complete siege. Israel’s attacks have so far led to the martyrdom of more than 21,600 people, more than seventy percent of whom are women and children.

These artists demanded “an immediate stop to the bombing of Gaza, the creation of humanitarian corridors, the allocation of material resources requested by international organizations, and the release of hostages.”
