The project we have in front of us is much bigger and more long-term than the World Cup games. Fortunately, so far, we have had negotiations during four meetings with the friends of the central bank, and also with two domestic cryptocurrency exchanges, negotiations for cooperation have been conducted and are almost final. The main plan is to install and set up ATMs in Kish Island and later in other tourist cities of Iran that can instantly convert cryptocurrencies into Rials. These equipments are ready now and we will announce their installation soon. According to Tawtley, there are some limitations regarding working with these devices; The Secretary General of Kish Hoteliers Association explained:

In the first place, we identified four cryptocurrencies, for the time being it is only possible to convert these four cryptocurrencies to Rials in this program, and the conversion of other cryptocurrencies is currently prohibited. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether and Tron are the four cryptocurrencies that we have chosen; But due to money laundering issues, this possibility is only available to foreign tourists or Iranians living abroad, that too with a foreign passport and not dual citizenship, and Iranians cannot use it. These machines have the ability to instantly deliver Rials to foreign tourists, and considering that it is difficult for foreign tourists to bring cash with them to Iran in the current conditions of Iran, this ability can be very helpful.

He emphasized:

It was even discussed with the Central Bank’s friends that ATMs should be set up at the airport so that the tourists arriving in Iran can convert the cryptocurrency into Rials on the spot, and they can convert the remaining Rials into cryptocurrency when they leave.

Therefore, according to the secretary of the Kish Hoteliers Association, foreign tourists will soon be able to book a hotel in Kish with card readers that convert currency into Rials.
