Egyptian parties declared their opposition to any Arab military alliance with the Zionist regime

According to IRNA’s report on Wednesday, citing Al-Quds Al-Arabi news site, the Egyptian Civil Democratic Movement – consisting of a number of opposition parties – announced in a statement that “before the meeting of the heads of Arab countries and the United States on Friday in the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, This movement declares its decisive and final opposition to participation in any Arab defense plans under the leadership of the United States and to the participation of Israel under any title and pretext.
This movement added in its statement: Although in general our principled position is to reject the policy of alliances and military alignments as a chronic threat to international peace and security, we also specifically include the region and the Arab nations and Egypt in We reject this policy and warn against it because this action will further disrupt the fragile security situation in the region and the suffering of nations in poor or less developed or less privileged countries.
In another part of this statement, it is stated: The military alliance with Israel under the supervision of the United States, rather than guaranteeing the security of these Arab parties, provides Israel with large resources and places Israel at the center of unified strategic direction and regional hegemony, either for itself or on behalf of the United States.
This movement, which consists of al-Karamah, al-Dustur, popular coalition, social democrats, conservatives, al-Adl, al-Aish, and al-Huriya, along with a number of well-known personalities, added: Such a situation in turn leads to all kinds of strategic dependence on the regime. It will be Zionist and also an immoral and harmful political and security failure for the rights of the Palestinian people to reclaim their occupied land and achieve national independence and human dignity.
Based on this report, the parties and personalities of the civil democratic movement of Egypt also emphasized that there are definitely many opportunities for understanding between the Arab countries and Iran at all levels and axes.
According to Al-Quds al-Arabi, this movement also specifically asked the governments of Iran, Saudi Arabia and the UAE to explore these opportunities and revive the policies of friendship and good neighborliness.
US President Joe Biden’s trip to West Asia began today, July 13 (July 22), and he will first enter occupied Palestine and then leave for Saudi Arabia.
According to the published reports about the details of Biden’s travel plan, the US President will meet with the officials of the Zionist regime, such as the new Prime Minister Yair Lapid and the Minister of War Benny Gantz, and then he will attend the meeting of the heads of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council in Saudi Arabia.
This is while some American and Zionist media reports have considered one of Biden’s goals in this trip to be an attempt to create a military alliance between some Arab countries in the region and the Zionist regime against Iran.
Following this media wave regarding the creation of a coalition known as “Arab NATO” in the region, the “Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed” news site recently wrote that “a group of Egyptian political and military leaders have announced that they are against any idea of Cairo’s participation in a military coalition against Iran.” They are against it.”
This website, quoting informed Egyptian sources, added that a strong current within the Egyptian armed forces and the National Security Institute affiliated with the country’s public information system recently declared its complete opposition to the idea of Egypt’s participation in any military coalition against Iran.
The aforementioned sources emphasized: High-ranking military commanders in the meetings held within the armed forces clearly stated that they are completely against Egypt’s participation in any direct military confrontation with Iran. This issue has been repeated many times in meetings held at the level of the Egyptian National Security Institute.
They explained: This issue was raised within the security and military institutions of Egypt after the issue of the formation of Middle East NATO to confront Iran and the efforts of some parties to join Egypt was published.
The aforementioned sources stated that one of the main goals of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s trip to Oman was to “convey this reassuring message to the Iranians” that “Egypt does not wish to enter into a direct confrontation with Iran.”
According to al-Arabi al-Jadeed, these Egyptian sources did not consider their country’s opposition to participating in a direct military confrontation with Iran to be exclusive to Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, but considered it “representative of the thought and point of view within the Egyptian military establishment” because, according to them, “for many reasons There is no need for a conflict with Iran, including the fact that Iran has not been hostile to Egypt in any way, but on the contrary, the existence of a non-public agreement between the institutions that make up the ruling system guarantees Egypt’s non-aggression to the countries of the world.
According to the aforementioned sources, this issue was probably addressed during the recent visit of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, to Egypt and his meeting with Al-Sisi. Especially considering that, according to them, “Doha has a balanced position in many international and regional issues, especially in relation to Tehran”.
