Electricity in Central and South Asia is supplied with the cooperation of Iran and Tajikistan


According to the economic correspondent of Fars News Agency, Delir Juma, the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan and the Tajik head of the Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation between Iran and Tajikistan, stated on the sidelines of the 15th Joint Commission of the two countries: “High-level delegations from Tajikistan have been introduced to attend this meeting. In this context, the fruitfulness of these interactions, along with benefiting from its results, is important for drawing future maps.

Referring to the economic cooperation between the two countries, he added: “We hope that the volume of economic and commercial exchanges between Iran and Tajikistan will increase by providing the necessary grounds and infrastructure.” Of course, we will cooperate in cultural, political, industrial, tourism, etc. fields.

Delir Juma, stating that Tajikistan has a good experience of investing with Iranian parties, continued: Sangtode hydropower plant was built and launched with the cooperation of Iran.

The Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan reminded: Tajikistan ranks 6th in the field of water energy resources in the world, and according to the emphasis of the Minister of Energy of Iran regarding the technical-engineering potential of Iran, it is necessary to use this capacity to create hydroelectric power plants.

He emphasized: With the cooperation of Iran and the existing capacity in Tajikistan, we can supply electricity to Central Asia and South Asia.

Delir Juma added: This cooperation does not only include the field of energy, but extensive planning has been done for the next five years to take into account special privileges in the field of foreign investment industry. Iran’s great experience in this field can be useful and fruitful, and it is hoped that Iranian and Tajik investors will establish a good cooperation in this regard.
