Eliminating the food crisis is a special agenda of the International Monetary Fund

According to IRNA, Reuters wrote that the proposed plan would allow the fund to help Ukraine and other countries affected by Russia’s aggression against its western neighbor, regardless of the usual conditions.

According to knowledgeable sources, it is expected that these proposed measures, which have been compiled by the fund’s experts in recent months, will be voted on by the member states in October during the fund’s annual meeting.

If this plan is approved, the ceiling for receiving financial aid will be temporarily increased by 50% for all member countries.

According to this report, many poor and African countries that suffer from food shortages and famine have requested an increase in the fund’s aid.

Even though Ukraine has benefited from the two-year repayment of its $20 billion debt to foreign lenders, it has to start paying $635 million of its debt to the fund from the end of this summer. In March of this year, the fund agreed to provide $1.4 billion in emergency aid to cover the current costs of the Kyiv government.

It is predicted that the economy of Ukraine will shrink by 35% this year.
