Emphasis on joint cooperation at the meeting of economic ministers of Arab countries in Jeddah

According to the report of the International Economic Group of the Fars News Agency, quoted by SANA, “Mohammed Samer Al-Khalil”, the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade of Syria, called for investment in Syria at the meeting of the Economic and Social Council of the Arab States at the ministerial level in Jeddah, due to the existence of Promising opportunities and new rules for attracting capital.
He emphasized: Syria is ready to discuss bilateral and multilateral ways of joint development in a way that benefits our Arab nations.
Al-Khalil said that due to the exceptional conditions caused by international changes that the world, including the Arab countries, is going through, the issue of achieving food security has become a basic and urgent need, which requires the strengthening of Arab joint actions in this field.
The preparatory meeting of the senior officials of the Economic and Social Council of Arab League member countries was held yesterday, Sunday.
The Arab Economic and Social Council is discussing ways to strengthen Arab joint cooperation to achieve sustainable development and other social and economic issues of concern to Arab countries.
Saudi Finance Minister Mohammad Al-Jadaan welcomed Syria’s return to the Arab League and said: “We look forward to joint work for the benefit of our nations.”
Al-Jadaan added: We are eager to support the joint Arab action process and implement the decisions that will be issued at the summit, and these decisions will reflect on our countries and people.
For his part, UAE Minister of Economy Abdullah bin Towq Al-Mari said: We emphasize our full support for the efforts of the Arab Joint Action to develop cooperation in various economic and social fields, and we look forward to achieving a quantum leap in it.
In this regard, Khalid Al-Asili, the Minister of Economy of the Palestinian Authority, welcomed Syria’s return to the Arab League and said: We ask the Arab League countries to continue supporting the Palestinian people who adhere to their land and their legitimate national rights.
