Encouraging people to reduce electricity consumption/rewarding savings is a positive aspect of using the tariff tool

Mustafa Nakhai, in an interview with the economic reporter of Fars News Agency, stated: We have two solutions to compensate for the electricity imbalance during peak consumption, the first one is in the field of increasing production and the second is in the field of demand management.
A member of the Energy Commission of the Islamic Council, explaining the measures taken in the field of production, added: In the last 2 years, good things have happened in the capacity increase of the country’s power plants, and we have seen consecutive records in this field.
In describing the actions of the consumption sector, he stated: two ways to optimize electrical equipment and the use of tariff tools are the government’s tools for managing electricity demand.
* The water cooler standard has changed
Referring to the credits considered in the budget law of 1402, Nakhai clarified: In the field of optimization of consumption, good credits are considered, and on the other hand, the standards of electrical equipment, including cooling devices, are changing.
He continued: Currently, the standard of water coolers has been changed, and now the widely used coolers are no longer approved by the standards organization.
* The reward for saving electricity motivates people to reduce consumption
A member of the Parliament’s Energy Commission, while appraising the savings bonus plan favorably, said: Tariffs have always meant a punitive system for us, but the government can provide the necessary motivation for people to reduce consumption by using incentive tools and designing the electricity savings bonus plan.
Referring to the details of the savings bonus plan, Nakhai said: According to this plan, people can be rewarded up to 20 times the electricity sales rate by saving electricity, and the government has no limit to pay this bonus.
