Erdogan: I hope we will achieve historic success in the second round of elections

According to the report of Fars International News Agency, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Monday, in response to the large turnout of the country’s people in the presidential and parliamentary elections: “We respect the nation’s will, which was revealed through the ballot box.”
He said these words in a Twitter message, adding: “Regardless of the result, the winner of the May 14 election was Turkey’s democracy and the Turkish nation with a population of 85 million.”
The Turkish president said that his coalition will win the second round of the presidential election, which will be held on May 28 (7 June), and will attract more votes.
Erdogan added: “I hope we will achieve a historic success.” He added: “Regarding the people’s coalition gaining the majority of seats in the parliament in Sunday’s elections, the people of Turkey emphasized that they trust us and our coalition.”
Turkey’s presidential election is going to the second round after Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the current president, Kemal Kilicdaroglu, defeated his main rival, but failed to pass the threshold of 50% of the votes.
Erdoğan, the leader of the “Justice and Development” party and the candidate of the “Republican” coalition, defeated the prediction of Kılıçdaroğlu, the candidate of the coalition of six opposition parties, who said that he would defeat him in the first round, by winning 49.50% of the votes against 44.89%.
With nearly 100% of the votes counted in the Turkish parliamentary elections, the presidential coalition headed by Recep Tayyip Erdogan is leading the parliamentary elections with 322 seats. According to the statistics of the government network “TART”, the Justice and Development Party has won 267 seats, the “National Movement” party has 50 seats, and the “Rafah” party has won five seats for this coalition.
The Mellat coalition led by Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has won 213 seats in the Turkish parliament. In the People’s Coalition, the People’s Republic of Turkey Party has won 169 seats and the IYI Party has won 44 seats.
