Erdoğan made another election trick/a heavy tariff on grain imports to Turkey

According to the report of Fars News Agency’s International Economics reporter, quoted by Al-Monitor, the Turkish government announced yesterday that it will impose a heavy tariff on grain imports to this country. This tariff will be equal to 130% and it seems to be part of the election measures of the government of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to win the upcoming elections. This tariff will include wheat and corn imports to Türkiye.
At the same time, Turkey has imposed a high tariff on grain imports, and some European countries have banned the import of wheat from Ukraine in order to support their domestic farmers.
According to Reuters, Erdogan may seek the support of agricultural industry activists in this country in the elections from the place of applying this heavy tariff. In fact, agriculture is one of the important issues in Türkiye’s upcoming elections.
Türkiye’s upcoming elections are very important in determining the fate of this country; Because the economic crisis in Turkey has shaken the position of Erdogan, who has been in power in this country for a long time.
