Erdogan’s telephone conversation with the head of the Zionist regime

According to IRNA, Anatolia News Agency wrote that Erdogan and his Israeli counterpart discussed regional relations and issues during the meeting.

According to a statement issued by the Turkish Presidential Communications Office, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with his Israeli counterpart Ishaq Herzog on bilateral relations and regional issues.

In the phone call, Erdogan stressed the importance of Turkish-Israeli relations for security and stability in the Middle East, as well as the need to establish a culture of peace, tolerance and coexistence in the region, the statement said.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Israeli President Ishaq Herzog also had a telephone conversation on July 13, the first between the two sides after years of cold relations between the regime and Turkey.

The Ankara-Tel Aviv political relationship, which culminated in 2010 during the rule of the Justice and Development Party and in which Turkey and the Zionist regime were on a honeymoon, suddenly ran into trouble with a Zionist move. It was cold because of the Zionist military attack on the Mavi Marmara ship carrying humanitarian aid called the Freedom Flotilla to the Gaza Strip; This act of the Zionists led to the death of 9 Turkish citizens and strained the relations between Tel Aviv and Ankara. Until five years later, the relationship was strained, but in 2015, the Israeli-Turkish political relationship was severed, although their economic and security relationship continued as before.
This severance lasted until June 1998, when the Tel Aviv-Ankara relationship entered a new phase with the landing of an Israeli Al-Aal aid plane in Istanbul. The plane, which had the Israeli and Turkish flags emblazoned on it as it left its cargo, was not hidden from the media.
Six years after the severance of the Ankara-Tel Aviv diplomatic relationship, there have been signs of a return and resumption of relations between the two sides, a relationship that has always been secret and telephone.

The Ankara-Tel Aviv relationship comes as Turkey reacted last year to the normalization of the UAE’s relations with Israel and condemned it. The Turkish Foreign Ministry announced in a statement on August 15, 2016: In the case of Palestine, the consciences of the nations of the region will not forgive the hypocritical behavior and betrayal of the UAE at all.
