According to Tejarat News, it was the winter of last year that the head of the privatization organization announced the sale of shares of Esteghlal and Persepolis sports clubs. This subscription started on March 15 last year and ended after two hectic weeks.
Based on the promises, the valuation of the Magpies was carried out on 23rd of February 1400 and the final value of Persepolis was 3,210 billion tomans and the value of Esteghlal was 2,780 billion tomans. Of course, at that time, many legal and economic experts objected to this valuation; But these protests did not go anywhere.
Finally, after two weeks of underwriting, in Esteghlal Club, legal persons bought 280 billion tomans equal to 78% of shares and real persons bought 79 billion tomans equal to 22% of capital increase.
In Persepolis club, legal persons bought 261 billion tomans equal to 74% and real persons bought 89 billion tomans equal to 25% of capital increase.
Esteghlal is more valuable than Persepolis
In two weeks, the symbols of Esteghlal and Persepolis were reopened, that is, in the first week, the symbol of Esteghlal was reopened, and then Persepolis was reopened. Esteghlal Club shares were 405 Tomans and Persepolis Club 345 Tomans.
Accordingly, on the opening day, the blue stocks grew by 57% and the red stocks grew by approximately 13%.
In general, it should be said that the total value of the club increased from 2,780 billion tomans to 4,100 billion tomans. On the other hand, Persepolis with an initial value of 3,210 billion tomans reached 3,600 billion tomans. This means that the value of Esteghlal became more than Persepolis.
Some capital market activists have stated the reason for this issue is the reopening time. Others believe that the value of the clubs is not real and after a few months it is possible to tell which club’s stock is better.
Of course, it should be noted that at the time of subscription, almost all experts had warned that the shares of these two clubs were not valuable. Now we have to wait and see how the real people of the capital market trade the shares of the Maghrabs.
