A member of the parliament’s energy commission said: Thus, the government’s forecast is to import about one billion dollars of gasoline and diesel in 1402. The domestic sale of diesel generates about 7.5 thousand billion tomans for the government in 1402, but it has to spend more than 12 thousand billion tomans on importing diesel.

He stated: This means that the government should add an amount of more than 4.5 thousand billion tomans to the income and spend this amount on imports to meet domestic needs. In my opinion, this policy model is completely wrong and this wrong track in the field of energy balance cannot be continued.

Shariati said: “This is despite the fact that we give about one billion dollars of jet fuel subsidies to airlines from people’s pockets every year, so that the benefits reach only the prosperous 5% of the society who use the planes, and the other 95% suffer.”

He said: “I am not speaking as a speaker or a member of parliament, but as an energy expert who has worked and studied in this field for many years. I say that it is necessary to warn about the state of gasoline and diesel in the country. And change the diesel so that both the interests of the people are provided and the government can continue its services.

A member of the Parliament’s Energy Commission said: “The needs of the public must be met through subsidies, and I am not one of those who prescribe that subsidies should be removed.” It is possible to create satisfaction in the society without changing the price, but the difference between gasoline and gas and electricity is that these two fuels are consumed by all people in the country, and the incremental-step system (IBT) can be applied to it, but this model for gasoline It doesn’t apply, because 50% of households don’t have a car, and the gasoline subsidy distribution model should be changed from cars to households.
