Europeans and Americans desperately need a nuclear deal – Mehr News Agency | Iran and world’s news

According to Mehr News Agency, Mohammad Marandi, Vice Chancellor for International Affairs at the University of Tehran and advisor to the Iranian delegation in the talks on lifting the sanctions in Vienna, stated in an exclusive interview with Sputnik: “There are many cases of non-signing of the agreement.” The main issue is not even the issue of the US terrorist list.

The adviser of the Iranian delegation in the negotiations on lifting the sanctions in Vienna continued in this regard: the agreement is achievable. If the Westerners meet the reasonable conditions of Iran, we are not far from an agreement.

In this regard, Mohammad Marandi told Sputnik News Agency: “One of the reasons for the growing desire of Europeans to reach an agreement with Tehran is the need of the world market for Iranian oil and gas.” The Russia-Ukraine war and the global market need for Iranian oil and gas are among the reasons for the Europeans’ rush to reach an agreement. Iran is not a competitor of Russia in the global oil and gas market at all and now exports its oil production at full capacity.

He added: “Europeans and Americans are facing an economic crisis and are in dire need of a nuclear deal.” The nuclear deal alone will not solve the Europeans’ economic problem, and their only solution is more rational relations with Russia.

“After the visit of Enrique Mora (European Coordinator for Borjam) to Tehran, we are waiting to see if the Americans are ready to show the necessary flexibility,” the Iranian official said. We will see if the motives of the current US administration are enough to reach an agreement, sign it and stand up to its opponents in Washington.

It should be noted that Enrique Mora, EU diplomat and coordinator in the Vienna nuclear talks, met with Ali Bagheri, the senior negotiator of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in Tehran on Wednesday.
