Expansion of film collaborations due to historical commonalities as a result of Khazaei’s trip to Tashkent


According to the Fars News Agency, at the invitation of the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan, Mohammad Khazai, the head of the Cinema Organization, traveled to Tashkent. The meeting with the Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan and the signing of a film memorandum were announced as one of the most important programs of this trip.

In the continuation of this trip, he had a meeting with the Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan regarding the expansion of cultural and cinema cooperation.

In this meeting, the Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan, Azad Beiknazar Beikov expressed his satisfaction with the presence of the Iranian delegation in Uzbekistan and said: I am happy to be at your service. When I was appointed as the Minister of Culture, I wanted to meet with Iranian representatives.

He continued: There is no doubt that Iran and Uzbekistan are two important civilizational capitals of the Islamic world, and it is impossible to imagine the Islamic world without the civilizational manifestations of these two countries.

According to him, the cooperation between the two countries in the field of culture and especially in the field of cinema is very important and effective, especially in the field of historical films, because there are important figures and many historical commonalities between the two countries.

The Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan added: Mr. Khazai! I am familiar with your film works, if I had known you ten years ago, we could have collaborated more and collaborated on the music of the film you made about ISIS.

He added: We want to expand and increase the cultural cooperation between the two countries, and in the agreement signed between the two ministries of culture of Uzbekistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran at the same time as the presence of the honorable president of Iran, the important axes of this cooperation have been emphasized.

Azad Beik Nazar of BIKF stated that we should design joint film productions and documentaries: for example, we can make films about figures such as: Ali Shir Nawai, Jami, Sharafuddin Ali Yazdi and many common historical figures with the participation of the two countries. prepared. Emphasizing that our most important goal and priority is the historical reconstruction of Uzbekistan, he added: During the Soviet era, they destroyed the history of Uzbekistan, and we are trying to reconstruct this history in writing and images. There are several thousand manuscripts about Uzbekistan, several thousand of which are located in Iran.

The Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan stated that it is necessary to reconstruct the history of Uzbekistan in the language of images free from the distortions made during the Soviet period, and noted that cinema can help the collective memory in this regard.

He said: Iran has great cinematographic capacities and cinema plays an essential role in reviving history and explaining common cultural and touristic capacities.
Nazar Bikaf pointed out that mutual tourism boom can also increase the opportunity to get to know the two nations and added: I am personally happy that the cultural relations between the two countries have been renewed and strengthened, I like Iranian music and cinema, there is a lot of interest in expanding cultural cooperation. The Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan stated that we live in a new and complex world and political relations overshadow the relations of nations; So we have to define our position, we also want to focus our cooperation with Iran.

In this meeting, the head of the country’s cinematographic organization, while thanking the Ministry of Culture and Cinematographic Organization of Uzbekistan for hosting the Iranian delegation, said: “This trip is planned to expand and strengthen the cinematographic cultural relations between the two countries, which have common concerns in various fields.”

He pointed out: In the new map of the cinema organization, we pay more attention to the countries of Central Asia and look to the East.

According to him, Uzbekistan is one of the most important countries among the countries of the cultural and political field of Central Asia, which is more important for us in planning the international field of cinema due to its historical commonalities, linguistic, cultural and religious roots.

Mohammad Khazaei stated that the cultural commonality is the most fundamental basis for strengthening the bond between the people of the two countries and reminded: the civilizations of these two countries are intermingled, the cities of Mashhad, Sabzevar, Isfahan, Ray, Tehran, Tabriz, Shiraz, Neishabor and Kerman are for the residents of Iran. Uzbekistan is as well-known and dear as the cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva (Khwarizm), Termez, Ferghana and Tashkent for the people and culture of Iran.

Emphasizing that the approach of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and Mr. Esmaili personally is on the need to develop cultural convergence between the two countries, he said: Cinema, the most important cultural element today, plays an important role and position in this convergence.

According to him, cinema is the best media nowadays and has the potential to help the people of most countries to be closer to each other.

Khazaei said: We are ready to cooperate in the field of holding film weeks, mutual presentation of the works of the two countries, joint productions, etc.

Referring to the global reputation of Iranian cinema and the capacity of quality and specialized human resources in Iran, he said: “Certainly, bilateral cooperation and taking advantage of the screening of the works of the two countries in cinemas will not only help the convergence and rapprochement of the two nations, which will cause the economic prosperity of the film and Its passage will double the tourism category.

Khazai called the element of cinema as one of the most important components of power in modern diplomacy and added: Cinema is considered as one of the important gates of understanding a society and a nation, and this art comes from the thoughts and thinking of artists and writers of every country. I hope these meetings and visits can provide a new space for cooperation between cinematographers, artists and film companies of the two countries.

He continued: The high position of Iranian cinema in the world, especially in the last four decades after the Islamic Revolution, is privileged. This cinema was formed after the Islamic revolution with a strong focus on human issues, family concepts and a poetic view.

According to him, Iranian cinema has opened a new discourse and horizon without taking advantage of attractions such as vulgarity and violence in the world, which will be attractive to Uzbek audiences.

In this meeting, Amir Saeed Karmi, Iran’s cultural adviser in Uzbekistan, stated that there is a wide range of cultural cooperation for the continuation and new beginning between the two countries and stated: Cooperation between the two countries will be established with the establishment of a joint commission defined in the agreement of the honorable president of Iran and based on a specific road map with The presence of representatives can be the beginning of great things.

He continued: “In every field we enter, there is a wide field for cooperation.” Cinema, music, tourism, books, handicrafts, manuscripts and academic cooperation, sports and religious cooperation and all of this puts a detailed agenda in front of us.

He said: It is necessary to follow the cooperation between the rails of the joint commission and based on a specific road map with the presence of the representatives of the two countries in the form of a working group.
