Explanation of the House of Iranian Artists about the cancellation of a theatrical program
The House of Iranian Artists stated that the reason for canceling the program of the Association of Playwrights and Translators was the association’s late request for a three-day conference.
Theater News Base: Following the news of the cancellation of the programs of a theater association of the public relations of the House of Artists, he explained: Although we did not wish to comment on domestic issues in the public sphere, due to the public announcement of the Playwrights’ Association, we had to publish the relevant explanation:
1- At 8 pm on Monday, May 16th, a letter signed by Mr. Iraj Rad and the letterhead and seal of the theater reached the Secretariat of the House of Iranian Artists via WhatsApp, which contained a request for assistance regarding a letter that the Playwrights Association had sent to Mr. Rad. They had written. In this letter, a request was made to hold a three-day seminar (from 28 to 30 May). In fact, the request was given only less than 48 hours before the event.
2- The letter of the association, which was sent to the house in WhatsApp as an appendix to Mr. Rad’s letter, was an undated letter, number and letterhead, signed by Mr. Aram Mohazari on behalf of the president of the association, Mr. Hamid Reza Naeemi.
3- Despite the inappropriate time of sending the letter and its very short distance from the time of holding (less than 48 hours), in honor of Mr. Rad and the theater house, the content of the letter was informed to Mr. Nourbakhsh, the head of the Iranian Artists House, to make the necessary decision.
4- That night, the esteemed head of the house informed Mr. Rad by phone about the necessary explanations about the time constraints and the lack of necessary steps that would lead to the failure of the seminar program. Unfortunately, in a strange move, the friends of the association announced the holding of the program and the poster of the programs to the public in a strange act, which is considered unprofessional and unusual.
5- The normal routine of holding programs in the Artists’ House is the request of the organizer at least one week before the event, the order approved by the CEO, preliminary agreements if the venue is vacant, concluding a contract and then coordinating and performing various arrangements and stages.
Due to the lack of routine and the lack of a contract between the two, the unprepared conditions for holding a three-day event and the lack of coordination due to the late action of the organizers, despite the desire of the House of Artists, it was not possible to hold this program on this date. Hence, statements such as “Artists’ House withdraws from hosting” and “At the last moment at the discretion of the Artists’ House” mentioned in the announcement of the Playwrights’ Association are not fundamentally true.
According to the testimony of the published poster, the commemoration of Mr. Beizai was originally planned to be held in the Javanmard Hall of the Theater House, not in the House of Iranian Artists.
